After almost a year I have finally decided to come back to my dear and beloved Friendly Ferret blog with the same team: Frida the Friendly Ferret and Anja the Owner.
But, there are some changes. My blog isn’t the only thing I will do with my Friendly Ferret. I am also starting my Youtube channel where you will see me and my little Frida having fun, talking about ferrets and everything related to ferrets. After more than 4 years of living with Frida and 2 more learning about ferrets, now, more than ever, I love ferrets. They are the most incredible pets. They are smart, loving, and caring and I made my goal to show that (what I see in them) to the entire world.
I also have 2 more goals. Since I will show you my adventures with Frida, through those adventures hopefully I will educate everybody who wants ferrets or wants to know more about them. So, all my thoughts, knowledge, and experience will show here, on my Friendly Ferret blog and Youtube channel.
My third goal is actually for me the most interesting because it’s something new. Since I can’t find hammocks, tunnels, cushions, and toys specially made for ferrets I decided to do that by myself. I have already made a few hammocks for Frida and she loves them! I will show them to you in the future.
Since I am really a ferret fan, my friends wanted to give me something related to ferrets for my birthday a few years ago. That would’ve been so great surprise, but they said that they couldn’t find anything closely related to ferrets. There were a few T-shirts, smartphone cases, maybe a few bags, but all in all, not much of a choice. You can say that ferrets and their owners are forgotten in this vast consumer world.
I would love to have an awesome T-shirt with ferrets and I know I am not the only one! So, if no one will give me that, I will make it myself, right? Of course! I am planning to give all my ferretastic friends T-shirts, smartphone cases, hoodies, key holders whatever they want. I hope my designs will be great for all of them.
All that business journey aside let’s talk about ferrets! My favorite topic.
My, not so little, Frida is now 4 and a half years old! We moved her to a bigger room and now she has so many spaces to jump and play so she runs around all puffed up it’s crazy adorable! I must put a video so you can see her dook! Even though she is healthy, we had one health-related situation in spring.
A few months ago she had some problem with her stomach, she has vomited one evening and I was terrified. We went to the vet to get an X-ray and to check blood and sugar when the vet said I should leave her there for a couple of hours on infusion because she was dehydrated. It was the longest 4 hours of my life! When I came for her the vet told me that the blood is perfect, sugar is also good, and that he couldn’t find and foreign body in her digestive tract. She was ill for a few days but after that everything went back to normal. She was happy, she was playing in her plastic bags but a little slower (she was tired from the situation). I still don’t know what happened that day, but I assume she swallowed something small (a piece of toy, maybe food) and it made her ill.
But, that is now in the past, she is a healthy and happy ferret as she was before.
Hopefully, you will stay with me through this journey!
P.S. While I was writing this and contemplating about my life, Frida was sleeping like an angel in her blanket
